It may just not be the big blowout event were targeting, but smaller spates of water for now. For now most all waterways are low and clear. Flows likely to remain up and stained at least thru the weekend. Any future precipitation could raise flows and bring back dirty water color. Bass action is spotty. We have a new logo that cleverly looks a lot like the old one! If any Canal winter time drainage is passing thru it must be tempered like Canal managers said they would do. For now all the waterway is open but some of the downstream frog water could ice up. And thats after a brush with some area wide snow tonight and tomorrow that might only be a dusting this far north on the WNY Niagara Frontier. Its unclear if these lower flows will hang on, more then likely with temps rebounding thru this mid week that flows will rebound some with a little more stain. Fridays big east wind iced the inside waters where mature kings were being caught from 120 feet of water and in prior to the wind. Flows will likely just open up minus any blow out, as long as there is no significant precipitation. Rain has been slow and steady so look for smaller area trib flows to go high and dirty probably stopping short of blown. Flows in the other area smaller waterways are high and dirty. Early fish always tend to head to the dam as it has the most oxygen and they are hoping to go farther upstream to cooler waters. The other area smaller tribs have slightly high flows with stained visibility of about 1 foot. Flasher/fly and spoons are doin it but trout species are favoring spoons.
